Very sad story from New York

Pregnant Woman Killed by Falling Tree Limb in Kissena Park - Flushing - DNAinfo.com New York

read from another source that "there have been Twelve people killed or injured by trees in New York City over the last eight weeks, according to parks advocate Geoffrey Croft"

I imagine that there will now be a tight focus on tree inspection across the city following this latest tradegy

.

Thats tragic, and such a high figure in such a short space of time, not heard of anything like it not even close.

........... It's days are surely numbered in the dozens.

Possible, certainly the poplar in question.

But similar others in London where there is a concerted effort to drive canopy increase? Who knows?

A revision/re-sequencing of pollarding regime perhaps.

The failed poplar looked to have significant sized re-growth.

Decision to pollard a pop next to a bus stop or to site the bus stop next to a potential future pollard is a debate transport for London & the boroughs will need to visit.
