Is this Lime self optimising, by taking advantage of & manipulating the graft to share & lessen the load on each heavily leaning stem, or just a case of simple fusion due to inhabiting the same space ?

i regularly spend the whole day at Kew...and i love it so much i moved right next to it a year ago...it,s a great day out....the Mycorrhiza display is Magical!
