I usually drop mine on to my access line and then pull that out thus lowering the cambium saver to the ground.

Had a change up and used a VT today and it ran awesome, fixed cheek pulley marlow boa cord and a couple of krabs and using 13mm rope. Was self tending tending at about 20ft. The wind picked up loads which made my hitch self tend with most rope angles where my rope was getting blown about. Awesome made the climb super fun. Will stay on my mainline for a while i think

It is an excellent friction hitch. I hope to try the Cooper Hitch in near future.

I was shown a new hitch by Boel Hammarstrand which looks quite nice. Haven't tried it yet it's a cross between cooper and vt ... I shall try and get a picture up!

I climbed on 24" orange armour prus 3 wraps 2 braids on cougar blue rope, grabs and releases every time i use this set up drt and with WR, best combo I ve ever used and I used a few...

Tried a VT on my hitch climber yesterday... 3 wraps & 2 braids. 65mm ocean polyester eye to eye. Found it didn't grip too well.... Put 4 wraps in and it was too tight....

Haven't been climbing very long but quickly gaining confidence. I am convinced HC is the way forward but haven't found the right hitch yet...

Any thoughts or advice would be well appreciated.

Try using the Knut with new rope then when worn in try the VT. Or keep setting it each time till it wears in.

Its a pita with new ropes for sure .... I hate new ropes!

Thanks guys I'll give it a whirl and let you know how it goes... Makes sense cos the VT on my side strop works a treat!
