Why/How is a LDV tougher than transit? same engine both rust like thres no tommorw and the tipper parts i'm guessing aren;t made by either of the respective companies, so whats the difference? both dirty, slow, loud cheap vehicles

LDV has a more spacious (uglier) cab, heavier brakes, proper truck front axle with kingpins, bigger clutch, heavier back axle with lower ratio (slower but pulls better), heavier springs.

Transits are faster and smoother, but dont take our kind of punishment well.

What would you recommend instead of either of these dirty, slow, loud cheap vehicles?

A clatter of LDV's. Which is not really fair, as the venerable LDV is the best budget truck you can buy, and is significantly tougher than a transit.

To be fair I think they do the job, maybe not in supreme comfort but so what.

Built by brummies so bound to be solid and reliable like erm... Land Rover.
