Oak Bench

Big Beech

Well, finally managed to complete something that was hopefully worthwhile this weekend!

this board was from the initial Burr Oak I milled.

After several hours sanding, and lifting the grain and re-sanding I finally started to seal the grain, which was a relief! so have at this stage just applied some warmed boiled linseed to it.

It has been bolted together with four 3" carpenters mate screws and I have seasoning above the AGA an Oak dowl split from a log in my log pile. had dressed it with a draw knife, then will see final finishing with a spoke shave. this will then be used to plug me holes in the tops.

Anyway, I am well chuffed
