one of my old mates at college said that ,Arb proffessors or whoever looks at tree pyshiology in the intelectual world ,that there starting to think in terms of allowing pruning during sap flow on the basis it ' stops microboligcal attack as the sap flow pushing the water out stops nasties from getting in'.So the choice is the tree loses vital enregy V gets attacked by microorganisms.

Im still out on that one.

As tpo applys to the trees

a recent regulation change that requires an arb report to support the application for works made under the T&C

the reaction wood seems to be forming over the wound, though An inspection should be sought if you are giving advice to the client

oh & yep as the guys said Genus etc

johnty,

When the tides in, it pushes the water table upwards forcing more sap out of the pruning wounds, the nearer you are to the sea the more dramatic the effect. In ancient times all the villagers would run to the trees to hack branches off to collect sap before the tide went out - they were making Birch wine from the sap.
