Hi there,

hope someone can help without me taking it to the local rip-off repair shop.

i have a 2006 575xp and it starts, ticks over fine as soon as i use it and it gets hot it loses power like it has a fuel lock then stops,it starts up again straight away then repeats the fault again..the saw had a new bottom end fitted a year ago and i run it on a good stihl oil mix.could it be a carb fault,i have cleaned it now a few times, the cylinder head is tight.could the ignition coil be at fault or the carb?

thanks

We had a 575 in our armory and it scored a piston after about 6 months from new . I seem to remember there being a bad batch of fuel lines that perished prematurely allowing it to run lean causing it to nip up . It was peculiar to 575s only for some reason . Never loked it anyway . Much prefer a 372 .
