Does the rear door overhang the tailgate enough to prevent it from opening, and how is it secured to stop the dishonest amongst us from unbolting it and lifting it off (hicap body caps lend themselves to exposed external mounting bolts)?

Yes it does, and all the mounting bolts are inside the canopy when it's locked up.

I like the top it could get us away from the over priced over weight thirsty disco commercial we are looking at buying new. We carry alot of 20 litre oil cans and roll along tool boxes. The biggest problem with double cabs we found is security and with a normal plastic lid you have to kneel on the wet dirty tailboard to lean in especially since the body is so high. This box addresses most of these problems. I would be inclined to ask for a trap door so you can reach down into the buck and retrieve small items after the first emergency stop. Will it be painted or will the alloy just be left to weather ?

You could have pull out drawers in the buck with dividers in to keep all the small stuff organised.

Mutely, do you live in a house in the woods, with a huge sloping roof at the rear, make sweet chestnut tiles too. You look like chap who was tour guide on a FC/Oxford con group day I attended last August.

No not me mate, if I look that much like him I May try to take his place though, sounds good.

ah you guys with your fancy chipboxes........

this is what our budget allows for, old agri trailer/homemade garden shed hybrid aka THE ARBORSHED (the tractor, chipper and golf buggy aint ours either)

THE ARBORSHED doubles up as a lunch canteen (great for contracting ODTS poisoning from woodchip)

and yes, you're right.... we can't afford proper PPE either
