110 hard top and an LDV pickup and the wife has an Audi a4. I do need the 4x4 though.

BTW Steve if you're going down the 4x4 route and getting a trailer look carefuly at the towing weights because these days many of them are pathetic. Which is how I ended up with a defender. I'd get this:001_smile:

I had a landrover for years, then went over to a dinky little Fiesta van 3 years ago. Its cheap as chips to run, reliable, nippy and too small!. I often drive it right into woodlands in the summer, the springs and shocks must be mullered!. Now I'm thinking of getting another truck again, I've heard there are some giveaways at the auctions at the mo.

yep, i do appreciate that landrovers are the dogs when it comes to towing...not my cup of tea though im afraid! ive gone for a navara which has a 2.7ton towing capacity. that will be ample to tow the sort of plant im likely to use and just enough for carrying a load of logs with the trailer ive picked out.
