This is annoying me. I've seen it before but the name won't come to me. Boot at the ready for self kicking.

Daphne odora.

These leaves are slightly downy, googled dahpne odora and it didn't seem to match. The bark makes me think cherry with the raised lenticels but I'm stumped!

But them looking at the bark it does look like cherry, but the leaves and flowers look like viburnum.

I do recall seeing a mature viburnum and the bark looked like that. Mate.

Laburnum ?

Not sure but it's definitely not Laburnum.

Flowers are yellow and fruits are trails of small flat pods.
