First Spoon

Thought i would give a spoon a go.

Made this out of holly i got from a job

roughly shaped it with an axe then whittled it down then used a bit of sandpaper. Finished it with some flaxseed oil to bring out the grain a little.

but, if its anything like my bit of dead spalted holly, shes gonna split real nice in many places

Nice work, I enjoy making the odd spoon, trick to stop cracking is to go nice and thin.

Thanks hopefully it won't split! I made it on stages to let it settle and dry out. Thanks for the tip muttley
