I'm after a new set of loppers for general use, has anyone tried the 28" Stein ones? They're about £40 on frjones, the same price as 1 replacement blade for my old bahco ones :001_huh:

Fiskars l77 best I've used very light , they've got a gear on the head which goes through real thick stuff ,everyone who's borrowed mine has gone on to buy there own , cost about 35 notes .

Me too. They cut well and win hands down on weight.

The only drawback is that the gearing means you need to move the handles a disproportionate distance to open the blades. Most of the time it's fine, but can occasionally be awkward in tight spots.
