Like dan said using rope weight or a light foot wrap. Saves burning your hands up. :thumbup1: and allowed me to clear 38m in about 40 seconds.

Mine has about had it now, only works on my ne tachyon properly. Anything else it loads strangely or slips.

 

I've also seemingly bent two of the rivets, not good! I'll post photos later

ive started on 11mm so i'll move rope size as wear occurs. just bought a few today though 6 to be exact. :thumbup1::thumbup1:

Vortex is pretty static and fat in the hand. Would be interesting to see how it ran a worn Uni!

Bought 6 what..?, so you will increase rope diametre as excess wear causes the uni to slip?

Yeah basically, as it wears you use a bigger line and so on and so forth until it need to be sent back for a re-build. I have an account with a company and a few others wanted one after having a go on mine and dans so i put a large order in. :thumbup1:

Its okay as i have lots of lines to use up. ;) I still think in my opinion its the best bit of kit out for srtwp. :thumbup:

Would you say that it would be good for a novice or should one have experience under their belt before using a Uni?

I only ask because I've read that it's quite 'sporty'.

I've never used one so it's a genuine question.

Climbing is inherently dangerous, in my opinion a Uni is no more so than any other device out there.
