My brother was on a farm the other day, the guy had a range rover sport with a big bar welded on the front, all his gates were sprung and he just bashes into them to get through. He'd had sheep in the back of it too.

BTW monkey I saw a wildlife program once where a cock robin attacked a model like yours. Apparently during the breeding season they will go for anything remotely robin like if its in their teritory. Keep an eye on it.

They can be vicious little buggers when they want to be. How much do you recon for the two trees SWB ?

Nothing very interesting this week apart from being attacked by seagulls while trimming back some Norway maples in the high street. We did these trees 3 years ago with 6 aluminium poles and a pole-pruner – This year we’ve got the MEWP on the job, so much easier!

I've got a week off this week, which means a little time to make some pocket money. A couple of little jobs for a local farmer...

 

Aspen by the dog kennel - Take down to ground level.

Silver birch - 30% (ish) crown reduction.

 

Both trees all done with a Silky (except for the felling & logging of the Aspen)

I was two-thirds the way through the Birch when the farmers wife came out and said 'actually John, I'd prefer if you look it out completely'. There was no-chuffing way I was going to take it down after fiddling around with Silky, so its staying for now....

 

I was working on my own with no grounds-man, so if the Birch looks odd - that’s why. (there was no-way I was going back up, too much MEWP work I guess!)

 

I’m terrible on pricing private work and suggestions would be gratefully received. (All brash stacked and left on site)

 

....and if you can guess what the farmer had is his garage, I'll buy you drinks all day at the AA show!

Was it part of your method statement to have a female chaperone, leaning against the wall in picture 2 , to make sure you guys didn't peep through the upstairs windows into the ladies changing rooms in Next?
