How often do you lock your chain?

I am as old school as it comes, but chain brakes...it's not that hard is it? one click and it's as harmless as....well a harmless thing.

I don't use them much in a tree 'cos it's hanging from a harness if I'm not using it.

On the ground walking about I try hard to click it.

One thing I do find annoying is people putting it on when the saw is revving hard,

do they teach that at college?

ps can we change the title to "Using the chain brake"

A twig could easily catch the trigger though, that's happened to a fair few people including me.

Luckily I had my chain brake on as the engine gunned.

 

Call me a timewaster but I reckon that extra 0.25sec it took before I started moving round the canopy was probably worth it.
