I don't think I've seen any subject on AT divide the community so much as this one. Some of the comments sound like it would be a fist fight out in the street. And this after 30 years.

But isnt it great that we have all managed to be relatively civil,& with heavy inflection of differing opinions to boot.

Fact is,this has to be one of the most heated & yet still running threads out there.

There can be no argument ending post or conclusion to it,but maybe, just maybe a deaper understanding of peoples perspectives & where they originate from. on all sides of it.:001_smile:

From my perspective of the YTS/YOPS scheme that was brought in, I was a supervisor on one team. It was a great success to re-motivate and re-invigorate a stagnant youth. As each completed their programme, many tried to get on it, with a team of 6 usually had 18 turn up. This wasn't because they were forced to, they wanted to be there. It was easy money, all they had to do was turn up on site at 8 and be at work till 4, not graft, just be there. They got their benefits plus a tenner for their efforts. Most really enjoyed it, one or two struggled with the demanding regime of getting out of bed, but they soon left and were replaced. IME it was one of the best ideas at that time, given the mess of the country.

Morrisey is a prick. Always has been. Two statements without an ounce of fact or reference to actual fact.

Why do some celebrities think that because people buy your music they give a crap about your politics.

It's called opinion.

You won't find that type of opinion on the mainstream news will you?

Now I know who Maggie was, a lady that made a real impact on the world and loved by world leaders, who helped to bring down communism in many countries and changed millions of peoples lives for the good, smashed the strangle hold that the trade unions had on this great country,,,,,,,,,,,but who,s this morrisey bloke?
