Love her or hate her, she was a giant amongst politicians, especially when compared to the spineless pygmies who came later. I would dare to suggest that she was the last honourable, honest and charismatic politician before the rot of avarice, spin and sleaze enveloped the political scene.

The tragedy reading and hearing some of the comments here and elsewhere today is that so many still are unable to learn from the mistakes of history. Without that ability, what hope do we have?

Personally I did not always think she was right and certainly did not support all her Governments' policies, but she had my utmost respect as a leader.

RIP. I doubt we will see the likes of her again.

I just cannot get to grips with people defending her by saying stuff like 'she had balls' 'she made decisions' 'she was honest'.

Bloody hell, Hitler had balls, made decisions and was brutally honest about his views, doesn't make him a top bloke!

(and before someone spouts off about me comparing the two, you know it's not a direct comparison, i'm just proving a point)

That renders your point invalid, anyway, this thread was started to show respect to someone who has just died.

Why not respect other peoples feelings,(all who are reveling in this death),& let us get on with it?:confused1:

Don't think describing two people poles apart with the same adjective is making or proving a point.

The people who are 'partying' are the same sort of people who celebrate the deaths of members of the Royal Family. They're your opinions guys, distasteful perhaps, but it seems such people relish the decline of Britain...shut the door on the way out will you?. Now, lets get back to talking about tree's eh?

So Maggie Thatcher asks Jimmy Saville.... How many miners have you screwed...

Politics are politics but certainly won't be missed in my neck of the woods.

RIP anyhow.
