I would have given the help in exchange for whatever I would have charged for the job in the first place. No point in turning down work. :001_smile:

My thinking is that he will know what's involved next time, and get someone qualified in to do the job. I don't do garden work anyway, but I would have put him in touch with someone who does.

i have a saw and i do fell trees but in the wood and i make sure its clear to fell without getting hung up. i would never do a tree in a back garden do not have the skills or proper kit to do it. so pass any of that work on to guys who can do the job. people think its easy to drop a tree its not in the wrong hands.

and insurance would not pay out if it damaged anything.

Regarding the beaver fever that's already been forementioned, did they actually try to free the saw by hacking at it with a blunt hatchet in hope the tree would fall/release the saw??

Some of these people get a diy saw in there hands and they think they can fell any tree..

Inn answer to the question above.. Yes, He tried to cut the saw out with an axe after it got stuck!! Moving on.... I came home Sunday night about 7pm, I could hear him with a saw(Again, he won't learn...) cutting up some of the wood to chop into logs. I sat outside having my dinner that night and wondered why it was taking so long to cut through each piece. Looked over the fence in the morning and you could see grooves in the lawn where he'd been cutting the timber!! I wish I could see the state of THAT chain!!!

Well if it cuts wood it should easily cut grass :laugh1: It should work alright as long as the chain soiling system is up to scratch shouldn't it ?
