Forget about April 1st, this is a genuine post! I was shown this many many years ago and have forgotten how it is done. Come to think of it my childhood memory is so hazy I might not have seen it completed and just taken someones word it is possible. Anyway, puzzle goes:

-the top three dots are houses, below them are gas (G) water (W) and electricity (E) stations.

-each house must have its own G, W & E.

-lines cannot cross.

-lines cannot join from one house to another.

-lines cannot 'split'

First person to post a solution wins nothing but admiration

I cannot see it's possible unless one of the supplies is allowed under another house on its route.

Can you not join the 3 services together and then have just one line coming of each one to a house but as the line is now the 3 services it works? Dunno if that makes sense!

The background to it, as I was told, is the three houses belong to very wealthy people who don't get along. As a result they all want their own unique line, and are not willing to share or have a line go from their own house to another.

So passing under a house wouldn't work (like joining houses in a chain), and neither would linking services together...

The problem is impossible 2D, but possible if you are allowed to go into the 3D, i.e wrap around.

Also possible if you allow the utilities to travel "through" the houses:biggrin:

Have fun though:001_tt2:
