You'll need to leave it to rot for years to become as interesting as the one in this thread...4 or 5 years my guess otherwise its just p.l.a.i.n!

 

Couldn't agree more more and I'm in no way trying to compete with the OP's timber.

But some turners like plain: I hope to sell some to a locally well-placed barrister!

Wouldn't worry about the worm you can treat it but it's a lovely piece of timber

my worry would be how far the spalting has rotted the wood

I would persevere with such a beautifull piece of timber

 

Its pretty sound.

Was thinkin of applieing sum wud hardener. Any thoughts on its use?
