most look at the cost there and then for that operation but as i look at hardwoods if i can get top end logs and even better verner logs to the market in years come, is not just local but a world wide one and 4 figures for one tree. and if i get a some of these every 75 years that is a huge differance in the eccomics of managing the woods but it takes time and investment to do this to start the wood going , but when you get there it will be rewording, but the timber you will have taken out to get there will be more valuable as time gets on ie more saw logs but there will still be fire wood and i would aim that the fire wood cover the cost most of the costs and the saw logs cover the pruning cost etc with some left over they think there is no market for hardwood but there is but as conifers are seen more for timber production, and they are in easier to mannage blocks and simpler to mannage hardwoods have been forgotten about and alot of contractors are not geared up to hard woods just look at the fc how much have on conifers

it is there lack of willing to enter the unkown.

there are not many places growing hardwoods for production that did not stop there managment of there stands in the last centry in the uk and that is what is why they are seeing these operations as a cost as they stoped been mannaged
