interesting !:confused1:How are you supposed to find this info out, if they dont tell you!

If i take away any offcuts of timber away from a joinery job, does this mean i need a license as well :confused1:

It's called running a business. How do you know that PPE is mandatory or that your duties under PUWER? It's all part of the joys of operating a business, if "they" kept on at you about the minutiae people would start moaning about the "nanny state"

I just renewed mine for 3 years about £100 I figure at some time I will have waste on. You could get round it when collecting offcuts by paying them a pound but then that starts them thinking its worth money.

If you collect more than 30 loads a year you would be on a loss:001_rolleyes:

Getting the WCL is the easy bit.

Keeping the carriers log up to date is the hassle IMO. For those who dont know, this is the next thing the EA will ask for (if that particular guy knows his stuff), this is now required by the EA to show where every load has come from, when, how much, and where its gone and should be backed up by relevant paperwork such as weigh bridge tickets.

If you cannot supply this log, but hold a WCL, you may find yourself being accused of dumping or burning:sneaky2:

Duty Of Care.

Got mine. Had it since they came about- don't know whether we really need it but it's easier to just show it if asked rather than have to argue. Mind you- they hardly ever check. Once in 15 years. Never really saw the point because dids just don't bother. If they did then would that make everything rosey?

Just don't get it- ***** with waste on + no ticket= illegal

***** with waste on + ticket= legal. It's still going in some farmers gateway.

Yes but £100 tax up front before you have collected 90 loads or a £1 in someones pocket as you go along. Depends on how you view life. I dont like paying more tax than is required in this country because I dont agree with the way its spent.
