The only thing I can put it down to is the possibility for reverse drive & factory guarding & some equipment by 3rd party manufactures is available off the self & the relatively smooth underbelly of the tractor.

As far as the rest of the tractor goes

They are very light on the front end.

They have a crap turning circle.

They seemingly get stuck easily on cross axel twists.

Personally having driven a few, I wouldn’t buy one for forestry work if given the choice BUT there are far worse tractors out there for forestry.

fendts are mainly used on mulchers because of the vario drive that they have letting u have alot of control over speed and revs!and the standard revers drive.but they cost a fortune!valtras started off as a foresrty tractor so al the fragile parts of the tractor are hidin awy or protected if thats ny use

From what ive read and driven you can find nearly any tractor make that has been converted to forestry at some point. most of it is custom ...naturally.

From my experience

The college im at has an Massey furguson with a Botex crane on ..... its crap.

And has a Valmet tractor with winch and pulls a forwarding trailer and is a decent machine. :001_tongue:
