Ive only had a quick look, but make sure there CE marked. As our work spent a fortune on a set of tripod ladders and couldn't use them because of this. Ive also heard a mix reaction, so guess its down to you bud

We use a Henchman senior plus extension.

It is a great piece of kit BUT...not that well made (well not mine anyway)

However, it is stable and I detest cutting hedges from a normal set of steps.

I will buy the junior version one day as the one we have is too tall for certain hedges.

I replaced the scissor bars that keep the thing from folding up with metal tubes as they where just utter rubbish. Strangely, Henchmans used to be equipped with bars in the past.

It is heavy though at around 25kg but if you cut as a 2 man team then weight is less of an issue (it gets heavier as the day gets longer...)

I have a really good quality set of platform ladders, very well made. I can't remember who Nader them but I have posted on here before about them. The are awesome. I will find out the details and get back to you. They save so much time when doing hedges they soon payback the investment. Mine were around £400 and I can cut at 16 fr when full extended. They do bigger and smaller and also extension kits.

We have a set of tripod ladders which i rate very highly, totally changed the way we do hedges.

Although I don't remember where we got them from, I do remember they were significantly cheaper than forestandarb for the same set of ladders.

I think the Tripod ladders are better beacuase they are lighter and you can stick the single leg into the hedge if required.

My Tripod is infinitely better than my traditional four footed steps.

I had tri pod but nowhere near as stable. I sold em. I used to do like mick said but theses are so much better, I sometime have to do it the old way but mostly use the platform.
