One question. On that Tahune job, am I right in thinking that Graeme has a belay line clipped through each of the ratchet straps going up the tree?

 

If so then it makes for a great rescue system if required.

Not sure what was meant by 'stabaliser ropes'. Are they ropes almost set out at an angle to the tree and then sunk into the ground?

When I've used "stabablisers" or guy ropes, I've been luck enough to have other trees to tie them to which is more favorable than ground anchors. In this case I would have thought there were other trees available to use.
