its only a small proportion of what they do Steve, dont throw the baby out with the bath water.most of their funds are for injured troops and their families.

so what are you doing cerne?? personally if its one or the other, id go the praticle route, as my theory knowledge has improved through doing the praticle aspect of arboriculture, would be tempted to do the tech cert now ive done a few years climbing, as can understand things as have seen them rather than just been told about them!

theorys the way to go for the future though

think i may do the tickets, and the tech cert when i got more practical behind me ,like you say. Academic work when my body gives up and says no more im to old, il do the tech cert in a few years.

I would go the academic route.Its not like theres loads of work out there at the moment,so you won't be missing out whilst your studying.Also I would think that having more academic qual's might make it easier to get a less physically demanding job in Arb.

You could always do the tech cert and sell poppys on a part time basis:001_tongue:

aye voted asda do the tech certs and work in asda part time if you got the brains use it. can always fall back on the money you make from asda for nptc's then you get both win win
