If you have the time and can be bothered I would go for the tech cert then.

Unless you really need more NPTC's.

 

Thing is im 41, although i dont act it or look it..i feel arb bossess think im past it for climbing ecte..although im defintly not..so i dont want to waste the 'funds' i get on something i wont use because i wont be employed. So if i do a mind enhancing course to do a more acadmeic job...thats my delimma.

that would be handy... a trolly pusher combined tree surgeon..

where would you put the cuttings? in the trolly or basket?:dontknow:

 

AH! take it back into the store and sell it as fresh chip.

Go academic, if you qualify for tree assessment/tree surveying and the bible on BS5837:2005 on the wet days you can charge £45-60 ph to write reports. On sunny days you can climb and on wet days get paid to stay at home. Its what i am doing right now. £450 for a survey regarding trees in conservation area/TPo'd etc which takes a toal of 8 hours.

Then you can get an sidekick to follow you round learning all you know (holding your pen, making notes). A bit like Luke Skywalker and Master Yoda. hahaha

Sounds good...do both.i know the tech cert dont start until september..so could get the rest of my tickets in before that starts.

How do you get funding to start with ? No one has ever given me anything, everything I have has come out of my own pocket. How come it,s different for some ?

 

As i said have not got it yet..its potentially. getting some help i hope from the British legion, they help out ex servicmen..like me.there willing to fund some training to help me get a better standard of work.....they dont just sell poppies in November:001_tongue:...they do a great job all year.

No disrespect to you mate, but I would,nt take it if they offered to me and I,m ex forces as well. If you want it bad enough you can do it off you,re own back.
