Brave man! Can you bring your kit with you so I can see what you're using dude? I'd love to start and ideally do one of Nod's courses but can't see me having the time this year....:001_smile:

I think me and Joe are 90% confirmed so I don't mind sticking my splicing kit in the car if you want mate.:001_smile:

Great news, and would appreciate it Tom.

Will you two come up in the morning or the Friday night?

All being well I'm going to go and recce the farm this Sunday morning to see what the state of things is and identify some locations where most if us can squeeze in. If one or two local lads want to tag along you'd be very welcome. Might be helpful to have someone else who knows the layout in case we need to divide into two groups.

If I can get someone to have my daughter for me I'll take some gear up with me as well....

I'll have a word with Joe, (unless he sees this!!) Saturday Morning would probably be easier though.:001_smile:

I would happily bring my splicing kit, but I doubt you'd be very impressed by a twisted bit or coat hanger, a penknife, and some whipping thread.

I used Samson Tenex, which is by far the easiest to splice, from what I've heard, since its hollow braid I think. I want to get some welding wire to make fids with instead. I don't think I'd be able to splice double braid just yet without buying some kit.

Its a bit of a bodge, and there's a couple of puffy strands, but it held my weight fine today and with the pinto rig it retreived like a dream!

Did you get a Teufelberger one or a hand spliced? :001_smile:

I had a few bits arrive today, amongst them 6m of Platinum to try as a lanyard and a slightly shorter sling to make up another tether for the rw.
