We have quite a few novices without any gear coming along for the day which is absolutely fine, but collectively we're struggling to muster up some spare harnesses to borrow for the day. Ropes etc no problem.

With that in mind, if anyone who does not yet have a harness has the funds to get one in the meantime it would be worth doing, just means everyone will get more climbing time.

I noticed that honey's are selling off the Petzl aveo for just over 80 quid plus vat, it having been recently replaced.

A friend has one and they're a nice straightforward lightweight sit harness.

Alternatively a cheap and cheerful rock climbing harness will do.

If you can't get hold of anything please don't worry, we'll make it work whatever happens :thumbup1:

Climb X Pilot Harness and Belay Set | GO Outdoors

How's that? I also wanted a harness and belay so might as well buy one!

What about sizes, are they adjustable to fit most people PR should I buy a specific size, eg small, medium?

I know even less about sport harnesses than I do work positioning ones so I can't really help you on that I'm afraid Jack :blushing::001_smile:

In terms of tree climbing, you're hanging in it to climb ddrt so you want something fairly comfy, which sport harnesses aren't really, but to stop you hitting the deck it will be just fine. In terms of sizes, my son has a size zero Petzl Aspir which has loads of adjustment in it. Can you get across to go outdoors to try some on?
