That's it mate you've got it, thread ring through, run rope round stem, pull as much slack through as desired then tie 6 wrap Prussic, then the tail of the multi sling run back through the ring and tie a fisherman's/scaffold knot, then alpine butterfly and bina as a back up.

I'll try and get a little video together of me tying it buddy :)

It's good but it's so much more complicated and time consuming than an Alpine Butterfly with a 10mm Oval Maillon on the 'dead' side and attach the Maillon to my working side. It cinches up, done.

Complicated??? Oh my days!!! Are you having a giraffe?

Time consuming?? It's takes 2 minutes to setup lol.

the benefit of the multi sling is its a completely closed system, with 2 back ups if you included the tail end going back through the ring, and the alpine butterfly. In my eyes you could work that for and unlimited amount of time and not worry about it at all.. now I'm not saying that the Mallon would open but maybe just maybe!!! :D

Hahaha.

No mate, I just mean that threading the rope through the ring first takes up time.

I think a Butterfly, a Maillon and sit down is easier.

Less gear too.

However, as we all know it is personal preference.

Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!

Putting the rope through the ring takes the time??? Now I'm completely baffled!! Haaaa!

Please explain??

I dare say your method is quicker, but I'm afraid mine is more desirable 😜

Making mine a winner!! :D

Even quicker if you tie a Blake's hitch instead of the 6 wrap Prussic

Yes you might be right on the quickness but the Prussic will hold on each leg when attached to the ring, there for if anything was to happen to one of them then the other would still hold!! Unfortunately not possible with a Blake's hitch mate :)

Sorry, Adam, but I'm with Al on this one. The maillon is strong and safe, and midline attachable. I use it all the time, in many different ways and trust it, once tightened, as much as I trust the single nut that is used to hold on my truck's steering wheel, that keeps it from falling off. :001_tongue:

Make my own monkeytail/multisaver. Too short for a 6 wrap. Ive got Ewan on this. Blakes is king. If either leg on the prussic fails you are still up sheet creek. Recently if I use the multisaver type thing, Ive been using the ring anchor idea drew posted up ages ago.

I use the tail of the multisaver to tie into the alpine to back up. No need to use up extra biners and another link out of the system :) Maillons are cool. Rock solid and simple! If I want midline attachable im using the pinto alpine anchor
