Agreed. Dont tether ascenders to yourself above the wrench incase of a fall and rope shredding. I find hand ascender and footloops too busy also. HAAS/rope rocket and a pantin for me!

 

The HAAS does look good! Did you make your own?

I certainly did make my own. 9mm tenex spliced short whoopies footloop. Tiny maillon to the croll and then elastic for the top part. Use thick elastic 4/5mm. Has more pulling power and cuts in less if you run it over your shoulder

For hands free ascent I use a webbing sling twisted into an 8 shape with a revolver around the line above my device. Make sure it is asphxsi-wank tight around your chest! Dan knows what im talking about:thumbup1: Keeps you dead close to the line so you can relax and lean back into it a bit. Saves your arms getting tired on long ascents:thumbup:
