I think he means there are now quite a few people using it with a wrench.....?

I thought that but wondered if someone has done proper testing? We tried but couldn't find a donor sj

I don't think it has been tested and I'm not sure that, like the ZZ, it doesn't state not for srt use on the box. I tried it and didn't like the way the whole set up twisted with the SJ but others seem to get on ok. Personally, I'd be very careful how you stand with the likes of department of labour or equivalent. I might sound a bit like a jobs worth but if it all turns to custard and your using the gear for something it's not approved for its going to turn nasty.

Spider jack vs Zig zag

*Sj = recommended change of cam 1 X year average. = £9

*Zz = nothing to replace

1 cam a year, perhaps, if you don't use it much. I go through 2-3 a year, a new body after a year and a half. I'm pretty sure they recommend changing cams/body when it starts to slip...

Sounds a bit like 'triggers' broom from only fools an horses....

"I've had this broom for years, it's only had five new heads and three new handles"!!!

Yeah mine has started to slip after 4 months hard use, time for a new cam. I wonder how long it would take to wear out a ZZ???

Is the zigzag any good on seriously wet, slimey 11mm rope??? this is where the SJ fails, as i found out the other day!

Been climbing last two days in very wet weather removing ivy on 11mm and it was mint! Still plenty of response and control.
