Have you tried turning off all your electrical items in the flat then watch your meter to make sure it stops? you might have a leak.

After deciding to sort money out and streamline costs ive been looking at fuel costs at home gas = nothing

heating = own logs

electric = £700

this a quarterly bill we are on prepaid meter does this sound right

Surely if you have the immersion on timed the water will cool down so when it switches back on it will have to heat the whole tank up again using more electric than leaving it on all the time as it only switches on when you draw off any hot . Was wondering as we have 2 hot water tanks on all the time.

OMG mine works out about £180, its your hot water thats nocking it up, we cook and heat water and heat the house on wood. The rest goes on lighting up this computer screen to type rubbish, thats when its not shutting down. :lol:

It could be a faulty appliance e.g freezer if you seal has gone ?or if you have something plugged in that's faulty that should have like a 3 amp fuse that has a 13 amp instead possibly I only know this because my electric jumped from £60 pm to £112 thought I had started to supply half the street turns out its my chest freezer seal that's gone and caused the hike not impressed plus I had heat lamps on through December for poultry so I assumed it was just that but soon realised it was not when January came around definitely get it checked something sounds wrong there
