I enquired the other day just out of interest how much a new one was (don't want another) and apparently if you spec it with factory fitted towbar it now comes with different gear ratios to one's without.

Got mine now, handshake already done, although I must agree that a landrover cannot be beaten for off road towing ... thats about all they are good for though!! No offence intended to hardcore landy fans :laugh1::laugh1:

I had one from new on a 52 plate (I think). No problems with it all, although the back end can get a bit lively on greasy roundabouts :)

I towed 3.5 tonnes with it a few times, in pretty hilly areas, which made it work for its keep but it managed. Surprising good off road with AT tyres, but will get cross-axled on the really bumpy stuff.

It made far more sense the Defender I had before, and I say that as a Bronze Green blooded Landy fan.

Bought an 06 Thunder 18 months ago and its been brilliant.

It had done 100k but I haven't spent a penny on it in that time.

Thats what I got, hope it turns out to be like yours ... seems ideal at the moment, had a half ton load in it yesterday, didn't bat an eyelid, :thumbup1:
