Im not saying it doesnt self tend well. Its very good indeed, but I do think the SJ is better at that oen thing (self tending) although generally I didnt get on with the SJ.

I found when first using it i was pulling the rope towards my chest/stomach area which didn't help in the self tending. I changed it so i was pulling straight down towards the ZZ and it didn't have a problem after that. Self tended every time

So has anyone got any idea as to how long it'll last? I know it's only early days but seeing as the friction links are not replaceable I'm left wondering how long it will last as it is quite expensive

I really do t get why people are worried about it wearing. Just look at the mechanics. It doesn't have a clutch like the SJ or LJ.

 

As the zz wears the cantilever style gripping will just elongate providing the same amount of grip. It is the same way it works for 13mm and 11 mm ropes without changing anything.
