Yep love it it but don't go as often as I would like to, been to a few indoor ones the castle in London, Peterbough, xscape Leeds, small one in Lincoln, and Nottingham climbing centre.....:thumbup1:

Really miss it sometimes but just work stopped me! Been meaning to go to Peterbough one night :001_smile:

My best mate from back home had an horrific accident free soloing and is lucky to be alive. Dislocated both ankles (nearly had to had both feet cut off) and snapped both achilles tendons. Got airlifted to hospital and spent a long time recovering. As a result I have never considered climbing without protection since.

On a lighter note.... I can feel an Arbtalk rock climbing get together coming on!!!

I used to do a lot, but I worked with some very good climbers (before going into tree work) and always felt rubbish in comparison, although I was ok really.

I worked with Neil Gresham for a while, and his then girlfriend who died in the Verdon Gorge and it was all very sad. Neil has gone on to climb all over the world and write books etc.

I guess trees took over as something I could be good at on my own terms. (not sure when that will happen).

I even climbed with big Ron Fawcett BITD!!! That was an awesome experience.

I got left behind a lot!! To be clear I worked with him, hardly ever climbed with him cos I wasnt in the same league by a long way.

He actually wouldnt come to the climbing wall with us (mile end) because everyone would stop what they were doing and watch him! He was only about 19/20 at the time but so good it was sickening.
