hi sloth yes got your pm,,hence its in the post,,,:thumbup1:

I finnished it with chestnuts,,,,food safe oil! one coat is good enough ,as the honey will sort out the final finnish,,,,,

I usually make them in ash,on the pole lathe during the summer months then remount them in the winter and sand them up when dry,,,but in the winter use dry cherry on the power lathe,,,,both methods work fine,,,:thumbup1:

I second what silky said. I reckon there's a few of us on arbtalk would be keen to put some work your way for something a little different for Christmas and birthday prezzies. Those honey thingies look quality and I for one would prefer hand made than mass produced stuff. Already ordered some wooden business cards I saw on AT and I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for other stuff.
