theres a bin full of it for public use at the top of the hill i live on, luckily i half emptied it a few weeks before the snow . Are they not common?

heard on the London news tonight that some of the local counties have ran outta rock salt and have had to resort to importing ridiculous tonnage of table salt.

 

what am I gonna have on my chips when they use all that aswell

They used to be all over the place but now you mention it I haven't seen any salt bins for years.

still loads about they are mainly on steep bits or funny bends more commonly green now

come to think of it i havn't seen any bins in years, i had to pay £6 per 25kg today for salt.

Do any of you guys have to use urea to treat stumps??

It's great as a de icer.... it's got the same stuff in it that they use for de icing airport runways etc.

I think it may be the amonia (sp?) that does the business.
