not a sapcicle as such, but the nearest I could get

Missed a great photo earlier as I was in a rush. Hedgerow and wire fence on the outside of a bend in the road, large puddle and lots of cars = many, many tiny icicles... oh well, next time

A fine little group of sapcicles on a Field maple that we lopped a few branches off. Took minutes for them to form.

Wonder if it's drip flow rate that makes them form sharp or rounded like yours or temperature.

No pics, but the birches where we were today have started to drip sap and it was freezing within minutes of being cut. According to the thermometer in the garden where we were it was -2.8 degrees C
