Funny how people feel the need to comment on other people's price too. If you think PHAS is cheap, why not use him and let him make you some money?!

I think that, initially a lot of people were confused about what was on offer for the price which did at first seem like the bargain of the week.

I think the answer to you question is that is that cheap prices drive the entire market down, I appreciate that the price is offered to the trade.

Thats exactly it, my price is to the trade so I haven't had to do the quote on the job or the method statement/ risk assessment (only read and sign) so I just literally turn up, work then leave. So for instance if a firm had say a conifer job on that will be a struggle to complete in a day (and only have a day to do it) they could use me and my kit to get it done.

I'd be interested to see how the people commenting negatively are 'really doing' how many of you own a 7.5t truck and chipper and therefore know the running costs.

I would assume PHAS knows what he's doing, as the kit normally only comes through hard work and determination ( I know there are exceptions) and accordingly knows how to price.

He's got two options stay at home (and earn nothing) or go out to work and pull in 260. You can hire a chipper and truck for £100/day and the hire comanies are making money, so that leaves him £160 minus fuel and a few over bits and bobs that inevitabley happen. Call it a round ton to turn up on site, do what your told, no stress or hassle of quoting/waiting for payment etc. Then the next day that he has booked in for himself hes earning a lot more, do that twice a week, over 40 weeks thats an extra 8 grand a year minimum. I know what I'd be doing.

Just my tuppence worth and I know figures may be wrong but I hope you get the point.
