How do you replace 020 clutch springs, I mean is there an easier way other than doing it with wire and pliers ?

Dead easy with a small electricians screwdriver once you have removed the clutch completely, can be done in a few minutes

I always leave the clutch in situ, put a piston stopper in the pot then one end of the spring in place then a wire loop pulls the other end in place. It,s a pig of a job and I,d love to see some pics of any other way of doing it.:001_smile:

Like Dean says, just take the clutch of. There is much more room on the back of the clutch.

I change mine as they get worn, before they break.

They can be half worn through in 6 months.

low jet on the carb can cause chain creep if its not the clutch springs ,back it off a fraction.....make sure you check them springs thorough as some times a broken spring can be hard to spot with a quick once over, ive missedit my self a few times!
