We managed to listen to it on the way to a job. Speechless! What a poorly researched programme - Jeremy actually said "I would say wear swimming trunks " .

And someone phoned in saying he put up a scaffold tower up an 80ft tree over hanging powerlines . And no one described what ppe should be used. Not once!

 

For those who didn't catch it, it was on 15 mins before the end. Iplayer should have it up later.

Why would they?! It's a radio entertainment program that specialises in the extremes of any situation to provide laughter and outrage in equal measures. I used to find it annoying but now I think it's quite amusing - kind of like a middle-class Jeremy Kyle show on the radio.

It's all about extremes, on one side we have the self taught, careful owner doing all the right things and on the other,someone who is gung ho and others who simply can't comprehend the danger.

 

The article was pretty shock horror and Jeremy Vine, whom I do actually like, was just playing it up a bit.

 

Thought they struggled a bit about the "Cutting through the wire" and how the use of an RCD is important- not a breaker as they called it - big difference in the two!

 

Ban saws - why not ban motorcycles, cars, knives......chisels - once stuck one of those in my hand - funny enough, the most serious injury I have sustained - just taped it up and got back to hanging the door:lol:
