Good luck with getting a result. I had someone take my wing mirror clean off recently (£230 +vat for a new one) he drove off and after a chase I caught him. We got involved in an incident and the police got involved.

His word against mine so I got a caution and a note on the file that I was the aggressor despite the fact the he admitted driving off from the scene (he got nothing by the way). Unless he's smashed your truck/car to pieces and if you want justice your better off paying the local crackheads to re-design his car, you are highly unlikely to get anything from the Police I'm saddened to say.

But as a private citizen, it's the OP's word against the other driver's. There are no witnesses that we have been told of to support either story, unless of course somebody comes forward who saw the whole thing and can verify what happened. :001_smile:

Exactly, insurance companies dont pay out simply because you say it was their fault, if the other driver dosnt play ball this will be a very lengthy process, and when you come to reinsure your vehicle it will at least double in price because its not been sorted. Happened to me a couple of months before my insurance ran out, because the accident hadnt been logged as a non fault the price went from £275 to £1800. even now its classed a non fault the price still rises, when i explained that it was not my fault and my no claims were protected anyway they said that im now classed as a risk:confused1:

He's not getting out of this one. Half my street saw me chase him! He refused to give me his details but he admitted it! I got his number plate from the start! Police said hell get 3 points most Likey! Not enough!! Amagin if he hit a child and just drove off! £1200 for the paint work. Haven't got a price for the side step or wheel! Most anoying thing is I have no truck so no work! Waiting to find out if a hire car is avalible!

whilstwere on the subject of insurance, did you know that if you do not have a wet signed contract you have no insurance, and that legaly the insurance company are not selling you anything and therefore are commiting theft from your acount, again no wet signing of the direct debit mandate.

generaly it doesnt get picked up, less your claim is lets say, distastefull to the insurer, then they have a get out clause, they say oops sorry guvnor, heres your premiums back good luck with it all!
