I have recently noticed how great a piece of 'dead lion tailed oak' burns.

Is there any other species that holds onto dead wood like an oak?

Its the only firewood I want these days (personal supply )

Long dead Acacia is similar "ironwood" I call it, The grinder, saws and chipper know about it aswell!

That's stuff is just like you say mate, like iron!! I had some once, it was standing dead for years, I felled it with an axe for the old school fun and it was hard as nails. Didn't burn that great I seem to remember.
