Ive been told by a friend that if you have a licence that entitles you to drive a 7.5t truck, you have to take cpc to keep it by sept 2014.

does anyone know if this is correct and how do you go about getting one ?

thanks TM:thumbup:

Not sure about 7.5 tonnes but no I have to do same.. Just find nearest course and book a day... 8 hrs at time I think...

Previous looking into this revealed an exemption where the driving is 'incidental' to the main work activity, hence (in most cases other than perhaps timber haulage) its largely N/A was my conclusion.

Cheers..

Paul

we looked deep into this and that exemption did not count in reality.

The way i have been told is if you drive commercially after that day (hire reward) without cpc, Big doo doo's if caught, but for example if you wanted to make your cpc last longer, after sept 2014 you could not drive until you do cpc. Then from your new cpc completion date date your licence would be re validated and expire 5 yrs later.
