On the news now - it's gone. Real shame - with Curry's and Jessop's that's a total of 12,000 jobs gone in retail over the last six weeks apparently.

I did wounder today why some blokes asked me if there was a hmv near me in town...

 

Wish I had gone over there now.

 

Doesn't suprise me tho, I always thought there prices where too high in the first place.

I always tried to use HMV, I like to have a high street full of diverse shops and understand that for that to be there for me I need to support it.

I made a conscious effort to continue to buy my music on CD from a music shop, besides, I like to have a CD on my shelf as well as a copy in my ipod.

 

But I just found HMV so dreadful to shop in. The process of actually purchasing something seemed to take forever. You can rarely find what you want because most people don't put CD's back where they picked them up from and the queues at the checkout were ridiculous every time. I can't remember the last time I successfully made a purchase from one of their stores, I get as far as choosing then abandon the idea and walk out.

 

And end up buying it from itunes instead. A terrible shame but not entirely suprising...
