Helmet Cam help

Because there is a tiny ridge that runs along the top of the helmet, front to back.

However, due to the visor when it's up, the camera may be positioned to far back anyway.

I've used it this morning on my old Petzl.

GoPro Hero2 or drift Hd are plenty good enough for tree work especially if your uploading to you tube (it gets compressed to 360 or 480 then you have to choose to watch in hd)

That is one of the things I think the Contour helmet cams do very well.

 

The helmet mount that is. I find it hard to talk in here now with out it sounding a bit "carry on helmetcams" tooo many innuendos pop in my head

Hero3 Black edition is the current winner! But is the ugliest and hardest to mount.

 

This is from a lot of review reading from others testing in snow sports and mountain biking.

 

Everyone wants the Contour but with the 60fps 1080p that Hero3 Black edition offers. So most are sitting on the fence waiting for Contour to take their crown back.

 

This is from the snowboarding community where these cameras came from I think..

 

Oh yeah battery life is something that the Hero is lacking versus the contour but the higher fps at 1080 is ultimately what is selling it.

 

And for good reason to

 

The drift was mentioned in all reviews and they all agreed it has sub par performance to hero and contour and there was mention of an offering to appear from Sony. Which IMO will be over priced lol

The new gopro just came out (3?) and has all kinds of new bells and whistles. I have had a gopro 2 for a few years. I have done motocross, tree climbing, mountain biking, road biking, strapped it to my dog, set it up to take a picture every minute while I was away from home to see what my dog was up to... The thing is AWESOME. Worth every penny.

As I mentioned earlier, I can't put my Hero2 on top of my Protos helmet:thumbdown:

 

Does anyone know where I can purchase more of that 3M sticky stuff so that I can create the required shape.

CT1 do a glue that contains no solvents and is super strong. Comes in several colours as well including clear.
