  1. The new gopro just came out (3?) and has all kinds of new bells and whistles. I have had a gopro 2 for a few years. I have done motocross, tree climbing, mountain biking, road biking, strapped it to my dog, set it up to take a picture every minute while I was away from home to see what my dog was up to... The thing is AWESOME. Worth every penny.
  2. I just got the petzl vertex vent with the muffs and the visor. I really like it so far! I have a large head, and there is still space to wear a light cap in winter if I needed to. I was worried about the web suspension, as my last helmet had a foam contact piece. It is more comfortable than I thought it would be, and will be really nice in summer with the vents open!
  3. Get a bike. Start by riding around the block. Then do a couple miles... But always push yourself to go further. It is a low impact excercise. I lost 50 lbs last year, and although not obese, I needed to loose some weight. So five years after dealing with a rare form of cancer/ surgery, radiation and chemotherapy... I rode over 5,000 miles this year and climbed over 500,000 vertical feet. So it is possible! If you need inspiration google "Ernest Gagnon" he is an overweight cyclist that started at 550lbs (or there about) and has lost 200 lbs. Whatever you do- have fun doing it... The rest will be easy!! (And when you start climbing it will be SO much easier!)
  4. I got the go pro hero2 over a year ago and have used it for mountain biking mostly, but I have used it for road cycling, motocross, tree climbing... I even strapped it to my dog and threw a frisbee down through the woods. That is the best part about the go pro- the mounting possibilities and attachments that come with the camera. I had it mounted to the side of my tree climbing helmet (best location for a great video) and barely bumped it or even remembered it was there. It is fun to take time and get a really cool video edit done too.
  5. Here is a whoopie sling I spliced a couple weeks ago. I had fun doing a couple of whoopies and a loopie sling-
