I have a pair of meindl airstreams that need re-soling. Meindl have quoted £75 to do them.

Was wondering if anyone has taken their boots to a local cobblers to be re-oled and if it is cheaper?

Cheers..Al

I was wondering about Timpsons as they are every where, but wasn't sure if they could do work boots like ours.

Looks like you had yours done about a year ago - how are they lasting?

They are on thier last legs (pun intended), the glue came away a bit and needed re gluing but the sole is worn thin now, still fifty quid for another year is good value. Got to brace myself for breaking a new pair in:thumbdown:

Al I took my pair with worn soles to the place in Guildford. Said they couldn't be done. Was it through Honeys about getting then done for £75?

I had a pair of meindls resoled about 7 years ago, cost me £50. I asked the guy if he could put on a soft tacky sole which he did. To this day they were the best climbing boots I had ever climbed in. Downside was the soles wore down in 6 months as they were so soft.
