Having a real bad day wheel bearing went on the car this morning, then went to sweep the chimney the brush got stuck 2/3 way up after a bit of yanking the end of one of the rods came off, tried a window sash weight from above and it would not budge I think there may be one rod still on the brush and its digging into the liner then tried the rods up on their own got it through the brush and put the rubber drain clearing thingy on the end but it still wont budge to cap it all the top of the liner is moving (SPLIT) and the rubber bit is jamed in the join. to dark to do any more today any suggestions what to try next

Quoting the bleeding obvious , but always twist the rods clockwise as you push them up the chimney.

Bamboo sticks, duct tape, litter picker and string to activate the picker ???? and a knife to cut your tape when you get it back down

Go on roof drop rope down to fire, tie something like a cushion that fits tight in the hole and pull up.

I have done before but with a big sponge and a disc of wood at the bottom.
